The best freeride zones in Chopok in Low Tatras will host 13th season of CGC Jasná Adrenalin Race since 27th February till 2nd March 2015. The top freeride race gained four stars this year. That´s why the world top skiers from 18 countries will appear. 80 countries will represent Spain, New Zeland, France, Argentine, Australia, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Italy, Russia, Czech Republic or Austria. The legendary race will take place in free ride zone n. 3 in Luková kotlin on the northern side of Chopok.
“CGC Jasná Adrenalin moved to the next level this year. Chopok has very good hillsides and terrain for freeride, which is an object of envy even from the Austrians. Years of hard work on organization and safety issues in this adrenalin sport were necessary to gain four stars. The races in Jasná have a good name on international level which can be proven by the fact that this year the skiers who are attending the Freeride World Tour which is the longest freeride league have asigned,” says the race director Mat?j Hulej.
The “Facecheck” or the tearrain control in the location will be running since the 27th Feb morning and it is compulsory for all racers. They can´t complete the experimental ride in the terrain without it. Part of the introducing is even the ride of organizational crew which is observed by racers and they can gain informations about quality and structure of the snow in separate parts of the ski slope. “These informations are really important because the snow can be different in the middle of the slope and on the sides of it which can have serious impact on the results of the ride. We plan Face Check for the whole day. In the case of bad forecast for next days the Facechek is shortened is shortened for two hours and the races starts on Friday already,” adds Ladislav Mrava, CGC Jasná Adrenalin Race manager.
The next three days have to be booked for the case of bad weather according to the rules of World Freeride Qualifier. The start point will be placed next to the peak station of Funitel cablecar in so called “Sedýlko” on the peak of Chopok. The path with the evalation difference of 400 meteres on the hillsides has 35 to 50 degrees of incline. 11 women and 20 men in snowboard cathegory and 33 men and 16 women ski freeride cathegpry will try to gain the precious points for the qualification on FWT.
Ski resort Jasná will be pulsing with freeride atmosphere for the whole weekend. Freeride village in the Happyend Music Club where visitors can try the freeride equipment or see the demosntration of move in the terrain and freeride races on the sledges and funtools will be build this year again. Neither Fashion Show which will introduce trends in freeride fasion will be missing. Public arena next to the exit station of Rovná hola cablecar on Ko?ský Grún is set for those who want to experience great performances on their own eyes and have an amazing view on the racers or to enjoy unforgettable atmosphere of an adrenalin race. Everyone will be invited to the afterparty with slovakian hiphop music group Kontrafakt after the finish an evaluation of the results on the ending ceremony in Happy End.
